'Teal Partner' Salon Hosts Week of Awareness Building/Client Donations

Melody Edens Salon & Clients Go The Distance To Support National Ovarian Cancer Awareness & Nocc Run/Walk Oct 29

San Antonio's Melody Edens Salon and its supportive clients 'went the distance' to build awareness and raise funds for the NOCC/San Antonio Chapter's 9th Annual "Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer'® in Selma's Retama Park on October 29, 2016.

Located in the city's historic Monte Vista district, the salon proudly hosted a pre-event 'Break The Silence' Week, promoting both the cause and the event held annually by the local chapter of NOCC (National Ovarian Cancer Coalition). According to owner Melody Edens, who supports this cause every year, the salon and its clients rallied to show their caring and commitment to NOCC.

Edens shared that donations tallied over $1,600, including the salon's Teal Partner sponsorship plus client cash donations and product purchase donations. Also included was the value of daily drawing prizes and a 'Beauty Gift Basket' in-kind sponsor donation including products and complimentary salon services. Salon team members wore teal 'pop color' hair pieces all week (NOCC's signature color) and also participated in the NOCC Run/Walk event.
