Two Ohio Aspiring Nail Professionals Receive Scholarships from BCL

The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation (BCL) announced the names of 10 aspiring nail care professionals selected to receive a BCL|CND|Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship. Two of these scholarship winners come from Ohio. Maria Godinez of Brown Aveda Institute in Mentor, Ohio and Kristina Rodriguez of Casal Aveda Institute in Austintown, Ohio each will receive a financial award covering full tuition up to $5,000.

Professional nail care company CND and their partner donors fund the BCL|CND|Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship program honoring actress and humanitarian Tippi Hedren. Beauty Changes Lives is a non-profit initiative of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools and serves as the administering body for the scholarships.

Winners were selected in a formal scholarship application process that required applicants to submit a digital video or essay, and an inspiration board expressing their passion for careers in the professional nail care industry. "The passion of these individuals came across vividly in their inspiration boards, essays and videos, which connected their passion for nail care with their love of family, nature, travel and art," said Lynelle Lynch, president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation.

CND Co-founder and Beauty Changes Lives Foundation board member Jan Arnold said the competition celebrates the rich, rewarding career opportunities available in the professional nail care industry.
