Calm, A Salon to Host Cut-A-Thon Fundraiser for Local Man Battling ALS

Calm, A Salon will host a Cut-A-Thon to raise money in honor of Corey Reich, a 28 year-old from Piedmont battling ALS and who has been getting his hair cut and styled by owner, Eryn Harrison, since he was 16.

On November 16 from 10am to 3pm, Calm, A Salon will host their first ever Cut-A-Thon to raise money for the ALS research organization that Corey and his family fully supports: the ALS Therapy Development Institute(ALS TDI) www.als.net, a nonprofit biotech focused solely on discovering and developing treatments for ALS.

Corey was diagnosed with ALS in 2007 at age 21, when he was in school at Middlebury College. In addition to raising awareness of ALS, Corey is active in fundraising. He, his family and friends have raised $4.5 million for ALS TDI in its efforts to develop treatments to stop ALS. Corey is the assistant tennis coach for the Piedmont High School men's and women's tennis teams and loves traveling, hoppy beer, and baseball.

Calm, A Salon will donate all proceeds raised with the support and donated products from Kerastase USA and L'Oreal Professionelle's. There will also be raffle prizes and food trucks present during the Cut-A-Thon.

Calm, A Salon is located at 4179 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611. To guarantee a spot for this Cut-A-Thon fundraiser, register online at Calm, A Salon to Host Cut-A-Thon Fundraiser for Local Man Battling ALS
