NIC Needs Your Input on Cosmetology Exams

The National Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology (NIC) is a nonprofit group of all state boards. NIC offers a national examination program for all disciplines of cosmetology and barbering.  A major part of their test development is the use of subject matter experts from across the United States.

In order to maintain the legal defensibility and integrity of the National Examination program, NIC reviews all of the exams every five years at minimum.  The first step in this process is to bring licensed cosmetologists to assist NIC in the development of a survey of every task that a cosmetologist may use while providing services.  Once this survey is developed, NIC makes every effort to make this survey available across the US for the very important and valuable opinions of licensed cosmetologists. The result of this survey is then used to begin the development of a current cosmetologist exam that multiple states are using.

If you would like to assist NIC in the development of a current national cosmetology exam, visit www.smttest.com/JobAnalysis/niccosja13/survey.aspx to take the survey available until July 31, 2014. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and all opinions expressed will be kept confidential. By completing the survey, you can enter to win an Ipad. Winners will be announced in October via email.
