Northwest Beauty Professional, Steven Lightfoot, Joins Peter Coppola as Spokesperson, Director of Education

Steven LightfootSteven Lightfoot attributes his passion for styling hair to his father; an artist whose incredible paintings inspired him to make sure that art was always a part of his life. "Haircutting can be - and should be - an art, too. Hair cutting, for me, is a way to be creative every day, and help other people express themselves," notes Lightfoot. Although he's only been a stylist for 11 years, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Peter Coppola Keratin Concept Team.

Steven grew up in Spokane, Washington and began cutting his friends hair in school long before he turned pro. When he finally did, after attending the celebrated Glen Dow Academy, in Spokane, his world began to expand rapidly. For a while he had chairs in some of the hottest salons in three cities of the Great Northwest, Portland, Spokane, and Seattle. Later, he became a traveling whirlwind when he added New York City and became the Senior Colorist for the renowned Laurent D at the Privè Salon in Soho.

But cutting hair was not Steven's only passion. With an extensive background in chemistry, and a little engineering know how, Steven began designing and developing products and services for many preeminent companies around the world. He started with Salon Services Northwest, and soon became Director of Education for Salon Tech. That is when he moved to New York City to be close to their corporate headquarters as his role expanded into Research & Development. He was later approached by Cortex International to become their Director of Education.

While in New York, Steven earned a name for himself among the celebrities of Broadway and with the elite designers of Fashion Week. His vibrant hair designs earned him many important connections in the industry and achieved a great deal of notoriety in a town where fashion and fame are ubiquitous.

However, Steven always felt his heart was in the Pacific Northwest, and eventually left New York to pursue his own line of salons in Washington and Oregon. Since then, Steven has become a Master Cutter and Lead Platform Artist for Hattori Hanzo, the famous Japanese steel company and maker of precision hair-cutting shears. His editorial work has been published in trade magazines and on the Internet since he first began cutting, and he has even become a YouTube star, teaching hair-cutting techniques on video. In 2012, Steven did 22 hair shows around the country teaching techniques and training with the products and services he represents, which also allowed him to showcase his own innate abilities.

During a recent educational class hosted by Peter Coppola Keratin Concept, Steven had the honor of meeting Peter Coppola. After speaking with this young talent, Peter asked Steven to join his cause for providing excellent education and products that are safe for their fellow stylists to use.

"I'm thrilled to be working with Peter Coppola. He's a luminary in the hair-care business, and his commitment to purity and support for the professional stylist really resonates with me," remarks Lightfoot. "I'm so honored and grateful that he felt the same way about me, and has chosen me to represent his products."

Steven will serve as the Technical Director of Education and Product Development. In this position Steven will not only be a company spokesperson, but will share his vast knowledge of chemistry, styling and product development with the Peter Coppola Keratin Concept Team. He will also conduct educational classes with distributors and salons providing them with a superior education.

According to Steven, "The Peter Coppola Keratin Concept Collection is the first salon-developed, liquid hair-care product line I tested, truly believed in and wanted to represent. I will serve as a company spokesperson, and I am honored to be a part of this great team of professionals."
