Cielo Salon’s Artistic Team Styles For CASA

The third annual Southern Oregon’s Got Talent (SOGT) event on October 13th was a tremendous success.  Designed to showcase the region’s talented performance artists in an exciting and competitive venue, the event is also a fundraiser for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Jackson County (CASA).

CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to be the independent eyes and ears of the court and advocate for a child who has experienced abuse or neglect until they are placed in a safe, permanent home.

As the Creative Sponsor for the event since its inception, Cielo Salon’s Artistic Team under the direction of Cielo Artistic Director, MJ McCoy, provided hair, makeup and professional photo shoots sessions for the finalists in the competition.

Ms. McCoy is also a member of the Southern Oregon’s Got Talent planning committee and provided creative direction during the year-long planning process.  “I am so proud of the Cielo Artistic Team and their commitment to this wonderful cause.  Their talents and skills contribute to the professionalism of the event” said McCoy.  “MJ is a fabulous ambassador of Cielo Salon and represents our corporate mission and core values at the highest level” added Cielo owner Christina Apodaca.

The evening’s event raised over $ 40,000.00 for CASA, bringing the three year total to nearly $80,000.00.  “I’ve seen this event evolve and become more successful every year.  In fact, this year the semi-final competition was televised on NBC affiliate KOBI-5” said McCoy.

The event was followed by the VIP After Party hosted by Cielo Salon and local restaurant 38 on Central.  The evening was a celebration of another successful event and a time for recognizing the sponsors, committee members and volunteers.

Fabulous food, cocktails and music were enjoyed by all.  VIP’s received gift bags with styling and grooming products from Bumble & bumble of New York.
