American Heart Association's Go Red For Women Campaign Will Have Ohioans Saying "Color Me Red!"

Coloring your hair or nails can be more than a personal statement; it can show your support for a cause – the importance of a heart-healthy lifestyle.

Christopher Amira Salon and Spa, Lavish Color Salon, and The Studio will be participating in Color Me Red throughout February. By visiting these salons and purchasing a service, women and men can get into the spirit of the Go Red For Women movement and pamper themselves in the name of a good cause.

All three salons will be offering services such as manicures, pedicures, massages, makeup application and red hair extensions during the entire month of February, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Heart Association's Go Red For Women initiative.

In addition, each salon has chosen one day in February when they will host a color-a-thon. On that day, participants can get their hair colored or highlighted at a reduced rate as long as the color is a shade of red. The color-a-thon Color Me Red days will be packed with special activities, including nutrition and health information, and free blood pressure screenings.

These three salons are hoping Northeast Ohioans will take advantage of this opportunity to "Go Red" by making a donation and getting a professional hair color or highlight – as long as the color is a shade of red – to support the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women campaign. Now, in its fifth year, this event has been expanded so the salons will be offering discounted services all month long to impact more individuals, helping educate them on the movement and heart disease, which is the number one killer of men and women!

Each salon will offer a variety of hair and stress reducing services with either all or a portion of donations going to the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women campaign.

Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association's year-round awareness and call to action campaign to keep women heart healthy.
