Beau Monde Hosts Students from Japan

Just a few short months after Beau Monde College of Hair Design started sending students on study abroad trips they became a study abroad destination themselves.

During the inaugural study abroad trip to Tokyo, Beau Monde was able to make a connection with the Yamano School of Beauty. This connection has lead to Beau Monde's first chance at hosting study abroad visitors.

At the end of August, Beau Monde will be welcoming six visitors from the Yamano School of Beauty in Tokyo, Japan. These students will be in Portland for three weeks. While here the students will be engaging in a shortened version of Beau Monde's cosmetology course full of hands-on learning. Beau Monde College will also be hosting an ESL educator from Marylhurst University for the students.

In early September, Beau Monde will be welcoming 56 Japanese students. These students will be here only four days, but every hour will be filled with information and culture that they can bring back to Japan.

Beau Monde College owners, Robert and Dianna Peterson are currently in China, where they are touring some of the Pivot Point facilities in Chengdu. Once back, it will be just a few weeks until it is time to venture off to Paris on their next study abroad trip. Beau Monde has embraced the study abroad opportunity because it reminds them that the cosmetology industry is truly international. For more information call (503) 226-1427.
