"Dining for Change" Fund Raiser

On Saturday, August 20, 2011, Cleveland will make history as leaders and advocates in cosmetology come together to raise money to improve the quality of life of individuals. Dining for Change, a cosmetology industry fundraiser will take place from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the TAVO Martini Loft & Restaurant, located at E. 9th and Rockwell Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.

All proceeds for this event will benefit three extremely worthy charities: "Cut it Out (Salons Against Domestic Violence)," "Look Good . . . Feel Better" (American Cancer Society) and the Disaster Relief Fund (National Cosmetology Association). Distinguished guests include: Mr. James Trakas, Executive Director, Ohio State Board of Cosmetology, Mrs. Danita Harris, News Channel 5 anchorwoman, Rowena Yeager, Dining for Change, and lastly, Ohio State Senator, Shirley Smith as the special speaker for the evening.

Dining for Change promises to be an exciting, engaging, and enriching evening. This event allows beauty professionals an opportunity to network while raising social consciousness regarding those in need. As Chairwoman of the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology, Kim Thomas seeks to promote collective work and civic responsibility in this industry. "My goal is to increase awareness regarding outreach efforts of Salons Against Domestic Violence, American Cancer Society, and the National Cosmetology Association," remarks Thomas.
