Portland Salon Owner Passionate about Career

Studio ThirtyNestled just off Alberta Arts District in Portland, Oregon, Studio Thirty is a sustainable salon with an eco-conscious philosphy.

Owner, Kristenlee Morton has always been interested in hair and music. Morton started her career as a musician/booker in 1992 and a freelance make-up artist for film, rockstars, fashion boutiques and the like. After going back to cosmetology school to get her license Morton truly fell in love with hair. Morton became a John Sahag educator in 2001 and has also received advanced training at Vidal Sassoon in Canada, Toni&Guy in London and Bumble&Bumble.

Now happily on a new adventure with the Unite Eurotherapy Team, she still has very much to learn and experience. "I know now from past experience that by surrounding myself with positive influences, challenging myself, and believing ~ this is a beautiful time to be a hair artist," Morton remarks.

The vision behind Studio Thirty hair artistry combines passion with education, community, and sustainability. The studio is a creative and relaxing workshop offering a thorough consultation and sustainable philosophy with each visit to ensure a positive experience.

Studio Thirty gives back to the community: proudly donating $3400 of unused hair products to Dress for Success; sending hair to MattersofTrust.org during the Gulf Coast oil spill crisis and supporting local events. In addition, the studio functions as a non-commission rotating art gallery.

"By being passionate and inspiring about your craft will help build a solid clientele with great opportunities to stay creative with your clients and enjoy your career in the beauty industry," Morton says. "There is something very joyful about watching a client's eyes light up when we do our magic! They put a lot of trust in us to transform their hair to fit with their lifestyle."
