CUTS FOR THE CURE AT LISA POWER SALON AIMS TO RAISE OVER $5,000 TO BENEFIT BREAST CANCER RESEARCH

This July, Lisa Power, Owner of the Lisa Power Salon in Seattle and her staff are donating a day of their service and retail sales at a Cuts for the Cure event to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation and friend Stacy Kurtz’s 3-Day Walk for the Cure. This will be the third year the Lisa Power Salon team has donated a day of services to raise money for breast cancer research.

Stacy Kurtz’s mother Sydney Berry, owner of Salon Services – a local beauty distributor – is a three-time breast cancer survivor. Stacy has been so inspired by the stories and the spirit of the 3-Day, she has remained committed to do it again for the third year. Stacy has raised over $30,000 for Susan G. Komen and was one of the top ten individual fundraisers in the Seattle area in 2008. This year her goal is $10,000. “The Cuts for the Cure event is amazing and the amount the Lisa Power Salon raises grows each year. Their clients look forward to supporting Cuts for the Cure, as they know they can help to make a difference”, says Stacy.

This year’s Cuts for the Cure benefit at Lisa Power Salon will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 8:30am–5:30pm. “Breast cancer is something that has affected each one of us individually within the salon, and when I found out Stacy was doing the 3-Day, I knew I wanted to get involved, says Lisa Power. “In the past two years we have been able to raise over $10,000 for the 3-Day, and this year we hope to raise even more”.

Clients can book haircuts, color services, makeup and brow shaping appointments for July 31, 2010 by calling the Lisa Power Salon at 206-216-2900. All proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, as well as all retail purchase dollars – so you help by just buying a bottle of your favorite shampoo!
