Mode Organic Salon Opens On Microsoft Campus

The first beauty salon/mini-spa to open a location on the campus of a major corporation is something to be proud of. And Mode Organic Salon is just that.

The West Campus Commons at Microsoft opened its doors on April 20, 2009. It houses several amenities available to Microsoft employees such as a post office, a credit union, a market, a gift shop, several restaurants, a pub and a Mode Organic Salon (and mini-spa).

“When we were first approached and asked to make a presentation to Microsoft we were definitely flattered and also a little concerned that it wouldn’t be a good fit for us,” says Joe Carling, founder of Mode Organic Salons. “But when we found out that Microsoft was making huge efforts to become a more green company our interest really peaked. We were especially impressed to find out that the entire construction of the West Campus Commons was going to be LEED Certified!”

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and is highly regarded as the standard for environmentally sustainable construction throughout the world. In addition, Microsoft supports the health of the planet by using compostable and biodegradable cups & utensils in all of its kitchens, break rooms, cafeterias and restaurants.

Mode Organic Salon has been recognized as being one of the best salons in the Seattle area by the likes of Allure Magazine, The New York Times Style Magazine, Citysearch and Seattle Magazine. To accomplish this, Mode combines technical skill, customer service, sustainable business practices and the most natural and effective products available in the professional beauty industry.

“We are very excited about being given the opportunity to provide services to Microsoft employees,” admitted Michelle Fusman, vice president of Mode Organic Salons. “It really shows there is a shift taking place in how people and corporations view our planet and our place on it. This is clearly the perfect next step for us in achieving our vision!”

The brand new 2200 sq. ft. salon and mini-spa will offer a full range of beauty services including hair, massage, manicures and pedicures, skincare treatments, and hair removal. The product lines featured will include Organic Colour Systems and Chi ammonia-free haircolors, Simply Organic hair products, Eminence Organic Skincare, Sophyto organic skincare, Kevin Murphy hair products as well as many other exceptional product lines.

Built entirely to LEED specifications with vaulted ceilings, 60 foot windows offering incredible views of outside water features, state-of-the-art treatment rooms with shoji sliding doors, and a lighted Lumicor and bamboo reception desk make this Mode Organic Salon truly ground breaking.
