Snips & Clips is about YOU the stylist and salon professional. What's been happening in your salon? What events are you planning or have held recently?

Northwest Stylist wants to hear from you. We are looking for news such as: new salon announcements, charitable events, seminars or workshops, stylist events, fundraisers, press releases, etc. to include in this column.

Moroccanoil and Salon Services partnered with Pravda Events in Seattle recently to host a runway inspired styling event featuring onstage model transformations. Moroccanoil's director of education, Robert Ham, and Kevin Hughes hosted the event with local Seattle guest artists including Lisa Power of Lisa Power Salon, Mari Dwyer of The Collage Salon, and Michael Knight of Robert Leonard Salon.

Fresh off the runways of New York Fashion Week, Ham and Hughes showcased runway looks created for internationally renowned designers, Carolina Herrera, Badgley Mishka, and Catherine Malandrino, to a sold out audience of 200 guests. Moroccanoil and Salon Services will partner again in 2013 to host stylist events in Oregon and Eastern Washington.

Ernest Brooks, owner of HairapyPDX Organic Salon in Southwest Portland, has opened a second salon in Northwest Portland called Devine Organic Salon. Located at 3905 NE MLK JR. Blvd., the new salon just launched Eminence handmade organic skincare products and both salons offer certified organic products.

Lisa Power, salon owner of Lisa Power Salon, has been featured as the best colorist in Seattle by the October issue of Allure magazine. This is the fourth designation for Lisa Power Salon by the magazine in the past three years. Power was highlighted as the "Best and Brightest" colorist in Seattle during the magazine's "Best of Beauty" feature.

Beauty Bros. owners, Clay Lindsey and Trapper Solberg, hosted "Fall Back into Beauty 2012" at the Red Lion Hotel in Salem recently. Beauty Bros. are a local home-grown distributor located in Lebanon. They launched another local color company, Leyton House who hail from Monmouth, Oregon. The show was sold out. Next year's show may move to a larger venue like the Salem State Fairgrounds. Beauty Bros says to watch for a new product coming from Colure.

Salon Services and Supplies in Renton have installed 84 solar panels on the roof of its corporate headquarters to offset their carbon footprint.

Eric Alan Nelson, founder and president of Sidlab Haircouture in Portland, is moving on and Northwest Stylist wishes him the best of luck with his new adventures.

Cielo Salon of Medford assisted the third annual Southern Oregon's Got Talent (SOGT) fundraiser event for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Jackson County as the creative sponsor. Cielo Salon's artistic team, under the direction of Cielo Artistic Director MJ McCoy, provided hair, makeup and professional photo shoot sessions for the finalists in the SOGT competition. Cielo Salon owner, Christina Apodaca, noted her team's contributions and how their talents and skills added to the professionalism of the event. The event raised over $40,000 for CASA. Cielo Salon also hosted the VIP after party with local restaurant favorite 38 Central.
